You can now effectively protect the birds feeding in your garden with our super strong powder-coated steel Ground Feeder Cage.

Available in two mesh sizes it is easy to assemble using the plastic clips supplied and comes with a hinged lid for refilling the feeder within (feeder not included).

Large Mesh Ground Feeder Cage guards against cats and excludes large birds such as doves, pigeons and crows.
Small Mesh Ground Feeder Cage guards against cats and excludes medium sized and large birds along with most squirrels and starlings.

Please note: If you still want blackbirds to access the food, please select the large mesh size.

Q: Will the Ground Feeder Cage stop squirrels eating my bird food?
A: No, squirrels can easily enter the large mesh ground feeder and small or baby squirrels can squeeze into the small mesh ground feeder.
We do not recommend this product for squirrel control.

I´m using this with the wooden ground feeder and my blackbirds and robins are very happy with it. It´s very well made and sturdy but is really easy to pick up and move around to prevent the lawn dying out under the feeder. My little squirrels can pop through which I don´t really mind but after a week or so the pigeons and magpies seem to have given up and have desserted my garden. Great result.

Just as good as advertised, unfortunately I was so concerned to allow access to blackbirds and the like that I did not consider squirrels enough. A small modification is now required.

Ark Wildlife Team Reply: The small mesh Ground Feeder Cage will keep squirrels out but as you state, will also stop blackbirds, thrushes, etc. entering. Perhaps a compromise needs to be made here; we find feeding the squirrels in a seperate part of the garden quite effective.

Having been plagued with pigeons doves and squirrels this cage  is ideal to overcome this problem. One addition I have made is to add a clear plastic sheet to the top of the cage and door, This keeps the feed dry and hopefully if it snows will keep the feed avaliable. Pity the makers do´nt make a suitable cover as an optional extra
