A safe space for vital pollinating insects
What is it?
The Bee and Bee Hotel is a multi-story nesting habitat suitable for an array of solitary pollinating bees. In the UK we have hundreds of solitary bees compared to just a handful of bumblebee species and they need plenty of nesting holes in which to raise their young.
How does it help?
The different types of holes and variable sizes encourages more bee species to adopt the bee and bee hotel. Pollinating bees reside in most British gardens but find limited nesting opportunities as they need old decaying trees or damaged masonry. By putting up an artificial bee hotel you recreate natural nesting sites and bees quickly adopt these opportunities.

Sean says: “The bee and bee hotel is another example of the terrific work being done at Wildlife and Birdcare CIC. A ‘not for profit’ organisation who use British managed forestry timber to build wildlife habitats. The unique part is they are all hand-made by people with learning difficulties, so each piece is personal and good for the environment and the people living within it.”
Wildlife and Birdcare CIC products are built in the UK from designs by leading charities. This bee house is made in the UK by a NOT FOR PROFIT enterprise employing people with learning disabilities.
The wood is from UK forests and the natural timber is NOT stained or treated in any way. It`s straight off the log. The timber used is larch which is a naturally water-repellent wood that will last between 5-10 years without treatment. To extend life expectancy, you can use a water-based wood stain, or animal-safe preservative on the outside of the box.
