Through the winter, dried fruit can provide sweetness, energy and nutrition when natural fruits can be hard to find. Dried fruit will be appreciated all year round as food shortages can occur at any time. Dried fruit can also be soaked in water in the summer for a delicious treat, with the added benefit of providing additional hydration. In breeding season, soaking the fruit will also assist the parent birds maintain their energy and nutrition levels. The best way to feed dried fruit is to mix it with seeds, such as Ark Wildlife’s Bird Seed Mixes. Although you can also put the fruit out as a treat on its own.

Feed fruit from one of our bird tables, bird seed trays or direct from the ground, as it may block hanging bird feeders.

Our raisins are a real favourite of ground feeding birds, including blackbirds, song thrushes, redwings and starlings. Our other dried fruit banana chips will also be popular with squirrels, badgers and rodents.
