These ring shaped mouldings simply push securely onto each perch rod. As well as providing a firm foothold for the bird, it also allows them to face the feeder directly rather than side-on. This gives a more natural feeding position and allows them to use their peripheral vision to keep an eye out for predators.
They are simple to fit and remove without damaging your feeder. So why not experiment and find out what the birds in your garden prefer?
We`ve found some species prefer perch rings to standard perches when they feed. Greenfinches, chaffinches and robins like perch rings, while other more agile birds such as blue tits and great tits seem less troubled simply taking food from the nearest feeder.
