The Squirrel Buster family uses technology extensively tested in the garden and has proved to be 100% effective in the battle against squirrels.

The Squirrel Buster Range is a chew proof design, with a patented squirrel blocking shroud and a ventilation system, to keep the seeds fresh. Each feeder is tough, reliable and easy to refill and clean.

The weight activated control, at the base of the feeder, is set at the factory to support birds weighing upto 2.5oz/70g. It will fully close at 6oz/170g, shutting out the squirrels and larger birds. The spring tension may vary depending on outside temperature.

Please Note: The weight activated control CANNOT be adjusted on this feeder.

The Finch variety has a generous 8 places for feeding. Four ports lower down on the feeder and additional small slits further up where the birds can cling for access.

Siting and Positioning:
Remember the squirrel`s weight triggers the closing mechanism, so position the feeder with a clearance of 18 inch (46cm). If a squirrel can reach across from a neaby foothold and avoid putting its weight on the feeder, it will be able to access the niger seeds. By allowing an 18 inch clearance you force the squirrel to climb onto the feeder itself, which will then trigger the closing mechanism and prevent access to food.

Cleaning:
The feeder is designed to be easily cleaned. All the components can be dismantled by hand, so no need for special tools. Comprehensive instructions for dismantling and assembling the feeder are found in the instruction booklet or by visiting the Brome Website.

Q: Is there a Base Tray for the Squirrel Buster Finch?
A: The Squirrel-Buster range of feeders do not have the option of a Base Tray.
Q: How does this feeder work to stop the squirrels eating the food?
A: The weight of the squirrel will activate the shroud mechanism closing off the ports. If the squirrels attempt access from the top of the feeder, the negative grip tube prevents them from grabbing the wire hanger with their hind legs, hanging down alongside the feeder and defeating the closing mechanism.
Q: Where should I hang my feeder for best results?
A: It is best to hang your feeder from a pole, away from trees, fences and other structures that squirrels can climb and leap across from.
Q: I have misplaced the instructions which I need to dismantle the feeder for cleaning - can you help?

Q: Do you have any tips about reassembling after cleaning?
A: Yes we do.  When you fit the tube back in the cage after cleaning, you need to ensure that the slots line up correctly with the feeding holes. There is a yellow tab on the tube, twist the tube until the yellow tab clicks into position.  Once it has clicked into place the holes will align with the ports
