Squirrel Feeders

Feeding squirrels in your garden can be fun and highly entertaining – it may also convince them to leave your bird feeders alone! Providing squirrels with their own supply of food in the corner of the wildlife garden has been shown to discourage them from damaging bird feeders, allowing your birds and squirrels to co-exist.

Our squirrel feeders include:

  • Large Capacity Squirrel Feeder
  • Squirrel Feeder All Metal with Flip Top
  • Squirrel Lovers Pack
  • Flip Top Heavy Duty Squirrel Feeder
  • Squirrel Feeder & Food Pack

All our squirrel feeders have a ‘flip top’ and perching platform from which the squirrels quickly learn to lift the lid and remove food, a piece at a time. In some gardens, squirrels can be very destructive and may start chewing the wooden feeder. If in doubt, we would always recommend the metal squirrel feeder to be sure. Feeders can be hung using simple screws or nails.

Where should I put my squirrel feeder?

Place the feeder in a convenient place, so it is easy to fill with squirrel food like peanuts. We also offer a range of specially-formulated squirrel foods, designed for their dietary needs. Keep it well away from your bird feeding station. Top up their food regularly and remove any old food, as this may be harmful to the squirrels, birds and other wildlife.

Sometimes it may take a while for squirrels to find the feeders and in these cases, we recommend placing a few peanuts on the platform and even one to prop the lid open, to encourage your squirrels to use the feeder. Once discovered, there will be no looking back – squirrels will love using them and you will love watching them.
