This heavy gauge coated steel guardian protects the peanut bird feeder within from marauding squirrels, parakeets and even stopping all but the most determined large birds such as starlings.

The wide diameter means even when the birds land on the guardian, long necks and beaks still cannot reach the food within.

Powder coated steel construction ensures long life and the easy disassembly means cleaning is also a quick and simple task.

The unobstructed lid means filling is simple and the guardian nut feeder comes in a choice of sizes with various other starling proof bird feeders including seed feeders, fat ball and suet cake feeder and live food and suet pellet feeder.

All the guardian bird feeders can be hung or pole mounted. Compatible with our Garden Pole System. If using with the garden pole please remove the clear plastic wing nut from the bottom of the feeder and replace with the screw in garden pole adaptor.

Q: I need a replacement wing-nut for the bottom of the feeder - do you sell them?
A: We do not sell the wing-nut however the Baselink or Garden Pole Adaptor have compatible threads to secure the base.
Q:  Can you put standard size (85-90grm) fatballs in the Guardian Nut Feeder?
A: Yes - this is possible as the diameter of the feed tube mesh is 60mm however it would require removing the hanger and bail at the top of the feeder for refilling purposes. Although designed to be taken apart for cleaning purposes - constant dismantling may cause undue wear and tear.
Q: Are there any tips for dismantling the feeder for cleaning?
A:  Undo the plastic wing nut at the base of the feederThis will release the base of the Guardian cage.To remove or replace the lid and hanger, watch our short instructional video to help.Then hold the base of the Guardian up against the feeder and then screw the plastic wing nut into the base of the feeder. This will hold the Guardian bottom.
Q: I wish to attach my Guardian feeder to the Garden Pole system.  How do I do that?
A: The Guardian Feeders are compatible with the Garden Pole System we sell.  The plastic wingnut on the base of the Guardian Feeder needs to be removed first.  The adaptor from the garden pole system is then fitted into the thread where the wingnut has been removed. This can then be screwed on to the top of the pole.
Q: The Starlings are continuing to try to feed from my new Guardian Feeder, what can I do?
A: Starlings are rather persistent birds and will continue try to feed from these feeders, with very little success.  The juveniles may be able to enter the cage, but soon realise it is not worth the effort or the risk and give up (they also grow too large).  The key is patience and time, in most cases the cage makes it too hard for the starlings to feed so they find easier ways to get their food, leaving the smaller birds to happily feed in the safety of the cage.
