Bird Feeder Mix

It’s important to choose a wild bird feeder mix that will attract your local birds. Individual types of bird tend to pick out their favourite seeds and leave the rest uneaten – these in turn will later be picked up by other birds. It is also wise to do some research before buying bird seed mixes.

Our bird food mixes are designed to really make a difference to the variety of wildlife in your garden. Perhaps you currently see many sparrows and starlings and want to encourage regular visits from blue tits, greenfinches, great tits, coal tits or goldfinches. By choosing a certain seed mix you can encourage them to visit.

How to stop starlings and squirrels eating all the food in your feeders

If you find that the local starlings and squirrels are taking over your bird feeding station and would like other more timid birds to benefit, take a look at our starling proof bird feeders and squirrel proof bird feeders so that your garden can become more harmonious. Jackdaws, magpies and pigeons can also scare off the smaller birds, and Ark ground feeder cages can deter them.

Wild birds need water as much as food for drinking and bathing. We always recommend putting fresh clean water out every day of the year.
