What is it?
Our Hedgehog Feeding Station is the ideal place for hedgehogs to enjoy their late-night foraging. It keeps food and water protected and deters animals such as cats, foxes and birds from stealing your hedgehog`s food.

How does it help?
Packed with beneficial features, our Hedgehog Feeding Station has two predator protected entrances for your hedgehogs to eat with plenty of space. Plus this also allows the animals to exit easily from either end. The hinged Stokbord roof with built-in prop makes it easy to refill water and feeding bowls, as well as cleaning up any mess that’s left behind.

Sean says:
“There are a number of features I designed into this feeder but two are often overlooked in other makes. 1. There is no base on this feeder meaning no cleaning is required. Much better for hedgehog health and hygiene. 2. Hedgehogs don`t like being trapped and having two entrances (or quick exits) gives the hedgehog more confidence while eating.”

Helpful – Caring – Responsible

When Sean McMenemy started Noah’s Ark Wildlife Gardens as a landscaping business back in 1991, little did he know what a huge impact he was to make on the bird feeding and garden wildlife industries over the following decades.

Over 30-years later he still brings the same passion for garden wildlife to work every day, so it’s no wonder we’re so highly respected. Our expertise lies in providing carefully selected natural food and products that offer significant benefits to wildlife – with the type of customer service only true enthusiasm for our subject can bring.

Meeting a demand for natural, nutritious wildlife food

In those early days, Sean constantly received requests for help in making his clients’ natural gardens more wildlife friendly. Requests for bird food encouraged Sean to research bird feeding, and at that time he found problems in the market with quality and service. He knew then the only way forward was to create his own natural, nutritious range of wildlife food and present it in a way which benefited both the wildlife and the customer. Ark Wildlife was born.

The company has steadily grown since those early days, now standing as one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of bird food and garden wildlife products, despatching over 500 parcels per day across the United Kingdom.

Exceptional service, because we care more than we can put into words

No matter how large our business is now, Ark Wildlife aims to combine the convenience of an online mail order outlet with the caring, helpful touch of a specialist shop. Our people make the difference. We take great pride in the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our ever-growing workforce, still led by our inspirational driving force, Sean. If you read through some of Sean’s blog posts you will see how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares for the welfare of our wildlife.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the hedgehog feeding station arrive fully assembled?

Yes – no assembly is necessary. Just unpack and place in your preferred location.

I bought the hedgehog feeding station recently, purchased it for the purpose of keeping the cats away from hogs food, but I have seen a cat go in?

Adult male hedgehogs are similar in size to small cats and this means cats are physically capable of entering the Hedgehog Feeding Station through the predator baffles. Although this is a very rare event, as well fed domestic cats do not like feeding where they feel trapped, a hungry cat may overcome such reluctance. A simple solution is to place a piece of slate or wood across each entrance, creating a little lean-to. This will reduce the size of the gap, further restricting cat access while hedgehogs will be happy to squeeze through.

Additionally - adding a small piece of wood to reduce the height of the entrance/exit to 4" (100mm) can deter cats whilst still allowing access to hogs.

The hedgehog feeding station is a lot bigger than I expected!

The most common complaint we had was cats stealing hedgehog food, so we incorporated 2 x entrance protectors to stop cats getting in, but still needed room for 2 or more food and water dishes. If you just have one hedgehog to feed you could try the Hogilo or Hedgehog Timeless Haus, although more limited in specifications, they are cheaper options.
