What is it?
Our specially designed robin and wren nest box provides a safe, dark corner that’s away from predators and protects birds from the elements. All in a beautiful box with a natural timber finish.

How does it help?
Creating a safe space for robins and wrens in your garden is one of the most important things you can do for these wonderful birds. With the increasing disappearance of dense undergrowth and hedgerows, small birds are left with fewer options away from predators. This handy nest box provides an instant solution.

This natural-looking apex nest box will attract multiple species of birds, meaning you can grab a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy watching your feathered friends stopping by to visit.

Sean says:
“The Apex range of nest boxes are made with thicker timber than most, offering more insulation against bad weather and predators. This unique design seems particularly attractive to wrens who use the same box year after year in my garden.”

Siting and Positioning:
It is suitable for siting on house walls, trees and even deep in shrubs and ivy clad walls. They are quickly adopted in the right location and will give you and your birds years of reliable service.

Cleaning and Inspection:
To inspect and clean these nest boxes, the right side panel is removable. First, loosen the screw on the front of the box. Then, twist the metal key downward and pull out the wooden peg to remove the side panel.

Cleaning should be done between breeding seasons.

Helpful – Caring – Responsible

When Sean McMenemy started Noah’s Ark Wildlife Gardens as a landscaping business back in 1991, little did he know what a huge impact he was to make on the bird feeding and garden wildlife industries over the following decades.

Over 30-years later he still brings the same passion for garden wildlife to work every day, so it’s no wonder we’re so highly respected. Our expertise lies in providing carefully selected natural food and products that offer significant benefits to wildlife – with the type of customer service only true enthusiasm for our subject can bring.

Meeting a demand for natural, nutritious wildlife food

In those early days, Sean constantly received requests for help in making his clients’ natural gardens more wildlife friendly. Requests for bird food encouraged Sean to research bird feeding, and at that time he found problems in the market with quality and service. He knew then the only way forward was to create his own natural, nutritious range of wildlife food and present it in a way which benefited both the wildlife and the customer. Ark Wildlife was born.

The company has steadily grown since those early days, now standing as one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of bird food and garden wildlife products, despatching over 500 parcels per day across the United Kingdom.

Exceptional service, because we care more than we can put into words

No matter how large our business is now, Ark Wildlife aims to combine the convenience of an online mail order outlet with the caring, helpful touch of a specialist shop. Our people make the difference. We take great pride in the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our ever-growing workforce, still led by our inspirational driving force, Sean. If you read through some of Sean’s blog posts you will see how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares for the welfare of our wildlife.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the Apex bird nest box need to be cleaned?

Once a year in October and November when there is no chance of disturbing the previous occupants.

Which direction should the robin nest box face?

As robin nest boxes are best sited in areas behind shrubs to conceal the entrance, which direction it faces does not really matter as it should already be sheltered from prevailing winds or poor weather.

Where's the best place to put the Robin and Wren nest box?

You should place this nest box relatively low down, making sure you choose a secluded location below 2m, ideally hidden in shrubbery or other vegetation.

How do you hang this nest box?

There is a hanging hook at the rear of the box.
