Ark Fox Food

Made with high-quality ingredients, Ark Fox Food avoids the problems of feeding raw meat or household scraps. Its extruded biscuit texture is easy to handle, less likely to spoil, and much safer for foxes and any visiting badgers your garden, meaning less mess, less odour, and less unwanted visitors like rats.

Each crunchy biscuit is carefully sized and shaped to support dental hygiene, providing foxes with a nutritious, consistent and healthy alternative to scavenged food. Whether you live in the countryside or the city centre, feeding foxes helps sustain their population during difficult seasons while letting you enjoy watching these fascinating nocturnal animals up close.

Offer a 100g - 150g per fox per night in the evening or at dusk, when foxes are most active. They’ll quickly learn where to find a reliable source of food, often returning at the same time each night. Rather than feeding all the food from a bowl, try scattering a handful of biscuits around the lawn and garden to encourage foxes to forage and feed in a more natural way.

Though developed as specialist fox food, this wholesome, protein-rich formula is also enjoyed by badgers and makes a great addition to Ark Badger Food.

Why Feed Foxes in the Garden?

Urban and rural foxes alike often struggle to find natural food sources, especially in winter or during breeding season. Supplementary feeding with Ark Fox Food helps maintain body condition, supports healthy coats, and provides a safe, consistent energy source.

Mange is a common problem for foxes and can be seen by coats in poor condition, loss of hair and bare tails. This is frequently brought on by poor diet and low immunity which can be helped by regular feeding of high-quality food alongside fresh clean water daily.

Feeding foxes responsibly also lets you experience the wonder of wild nature up close, but please remember these are wild animals and should never be approached or invited into the house.

Helpful – Caring – Responsible

When Sean McMenemy started Noah’s Ark Wildlife Gardens as a landscaping business back in 1991, little did he know what a huge impact he was to make on the bird feeding and garden wildlife industries over the following decades.

Over 30-years later he still brings the same passion for garden wildlife to work every day, so it’s no wonder we’re so highly respected. Our expertise lies in providing carefully selected natural food and products that offer significant benefits to wildlife – with the type of customer service only true enthusiasm for our subject can bring.

Meeting a demand for natural, nutritious wildlife food

In those early days, Sean constantly received requests for help in making his clients’ natural gardens more wildlife friendly. Requests for bird food encouraged Sean to research bird feeding, and at that time he found problems in the market with quality and service. He knew then the only way forward was to create his own natural, nutritious range of wildlife food and present it in a way which benefited both the wildlife and the customer. Ark Wildlife was born.

The company has steadily grown since those early days, now standing as one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of bird food and garden wildlife products, despatching over 500 parcels per day across the United Kingdom.

Exceptional service, because we care more than we can put into words

No matter how large our business is now, Ark Wildlife aims to combine the convenience of an online mail order outlet with the caring, helpful touch of a specialist shop. Our people make the difference. We take great pride in the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our ever-growing workforce, still led by our inspirational driving force, Sean. If you read through some of Sean’s blog posts you will see how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares for the welfare of our wildlife.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ark Fox Food suitable for badgers as well?

Yes, while Ark Fox Food is formulated for foxes, it can also be used as a great supplemental treat for badgers. Its highly palatable formula will attract badgers and the protein makes it a healthy addition to their diet.

Does feeding foxes make them dependent on humans?

Properly managed feeding (small amounts, consistent schedule, and encouraging natural foraging) doesn’t cause dependency. However, over-feeding, uncontrolled feeding, or over familiarisation (taming) with humans, can undermine their wild instincts.

What do foxes naturally eat in the wild?

Foxes are opportunistic omnivores. Their varied diet includes small mammals (mice, voles, rabbits), insects, earthworms, fruit, carrion, and occasionally birds, depending on the season. In urban areas they have learned to scavenge from bins and outside food take-aways, which can often contain rotting food.

Is it legal to feed foxes in the UK?

Yes, feeding foxes in the UK is generally legal. There is no blanket law banning it, but those feeding must take responsibly for health and hygiene, not attract nuisance, and respect neighbours. Some local councils may impose bylaws, so always check first.

Will foxes eat Ark Fox Food all year round?

Yes, foxes can be fed through all seasons. However, in milder weather they may rely more on natural prey. Supplementary feeding is most beneficial in winter, breeding season, or drought. Urban foxes will benefit more from year round feeding than rural foxes.
