What is it?
Our duck food is formulated from 100% natural ingredients containing all the nutrition ducks need for health and vitality. Completely free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. It is designed to suit ducks, swans, coots, moorhens and geese, and will float on the water’s surface for up to 2 hours.

How does it help?
We all love heading to our local park and feeding the ducks with the family. And by using our nutritionally balanced duck food, you’re actively promoting bird health, meaning the ducks and swans benefit too. The special pellet size creates a natural feeding pattern, so you know they are benefitting optimally. Simply scatter the duck food liberally on the water or bank, feeding as much as the birds will happily consume within 10 minutes or so.

Sean says:
"Making a healthy alternative to bread which was just as palatable, was one of the hardest tasks I've undertaken. The nutrition was always good but getting palatability right and positive uptake proved a lot harder. I’m grateful to all the patient waterbirds who helped with all my food trials until I got it just right. Geese and coots, I learned can be fussy eaters.”

“I formulated our duck & swan food to complement all waterfowl dietary needs, made from carefully selected 100% natural ingredients. It’s completely free from artificial colours and preservatives and is fortified with vitamins and minerals to help boost birds immunity and general health. The balanced protein level promotes strong growth, successful breeding and feather condition throughout the moult. High oil content provides energy when it’s needed most, through natural food shortages, winter, cold and wet spells. The careful formulation of the duck feed also makes it ideal in the springtime for feeding ducklings along with the parent ducks. We additionally tested the duck food to ensure it holds its shape and continues to float for at least 2-hours, to allow feeding over a longer period. This means less waste and less water contamination.”

Composition (per 100g): Protein 17.5%, Oil 5.5%, Fibre 4.5%, Ash 5.75%, Calcium 0.9%.
Contains: Wheat, Wheat Feed, Soya Meal, Sunflower Seed Meal, Vegetable Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Mono Calcium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate.

Helpful – Caring – Responsible

When Sean McMenemy started Noah’s Ark Wildlife Gardens as a landscaping business back in 1991, little did he know what a huge impact he was to make on the bird feeding and garden wildlife industries over the following decades.

Over 30-years later he still brings the same passion for garden wildlife to work every day, so it’s no wonder we’re so highly respected. Our expertise lies in providing carefully selected natural food and products that offer significant benefits to wildlife – with the type of customer service only true enthusiasm for our subject can bring.

Meeting a demand for natural, nutritious wildlife food

In those early days, Sean constantly received requests for help in making his clients’ natural gardens more wildlife friendly. Requests for bird food encouraged Sean to research bird feeding, and at that time he found problems in the market with quality and service. He knew then the only way forward was to create his own natural, nutritious range of wildlife food and present it in a way which benefited both the wildlife and the customer. Ark Wildlife was born.

The company has steadily grown since those early days, now standing as one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of bird food and garden wildlife products, despatching over 500 parcels per day across the United Kingdom.

Exceptional service, because we care more than we can put into words

No matter how large our business is now, Ark Wildlife aims to combine the convenience of an online mail order outlet with the caring, helpful touch of a specialist shop. Our people make the difference. We take great pride in the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our ever-growing workforce, still led by our inspirational driving force, Sean. If you read through some of Sean’s blog posts you will see how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares for the welfare of our wildlife.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should I feed each time?

This will vary depending on the quantity of waterfowl you are feeding, but as a guide, provide as much as the wild birds will eat up in 10 minutes. Twice a day should be fine for them.

My pond where I feed ducks is full of Koi Carp - will the carp try to eat the Duck and Swan Floating Food and would it do them any harm?

It is likely that the carp will go for this food however it has been carefully designed with this in mind and will not cause any harm whatsoever.

I've just bought a bag of your duck and swan food but they peck at it and then leave it!

Many water birds such as ducks and swans have become so accustomed to bread that the firm texture of Ark Duck and Swan Food comes as a surprise to them. Keep feeding the pellets, as they will soften on the water surface and the birds will quickly realise how good and tasty our duck food is for them.

Is your Floating Duck Food suitable for ducklings?

This food is an ideal supplement to all wild water birds' diets. It can be fed to birds of all ages and across a wide range of wildfowl species. The very young birds may benefit from the food being softened in water prior to feeding.
