Looking for a reliable solution to protect your precious lilies and fritillaries from devastating lily beetle damage? Grazers Lily Beetle Deterrent Spray offers innovative plant protection that naturally deters these destructive garden pests.

This specially formulated spray creates an invisible barrier that makes your plants' foliage unpalatable to both adult lily beetles and their larvae, while being completely safe for beneficial insects and wildlife. Simply apply the spray as soon as new growth emerges in spring and maintain protection throughout the growing season.

Identifying Lily Beetles and Their Damage

Adult lily beetles (Lilioceris lilii) are striking scarlet-red beetles about 8mm long with black legs, head, and undersides. These beetles are most active from early spring through summer. When disturbed, they have a distinctive behaviour of falling off plants onto their backs, showing their black undersides. Their larvae are even more destructive, they're soft-bodied, orange-yellow grubs that protect themselves with their own excrement, creating a black, slimy covering that makes them look like bird droppings.

The first signs of lily beetle activity are usually small holes in leaves, particularly on new growth. As infestation progresses, you'll notice:

  • Irregular notches eaten from leaf edges
  • Complete defoliation of plants, leaving only stems
  • Damage to flower buds and blooms
  • Black, sticky deposits on leaves (larvae droppings)
  • Presence of eggs in orange-red clusters on leaf undersides

Lily beetles can wreak havoc on oriental lilies, asiatic lilies, fritillaries and other ornamental plants, with both adults and larvae feeding voraciously on leaves, flowers and stems. Left unchecked, these bright red beetles and their destructive larvae can completely defoliate plants and prevent flowering in subsequent years.

Our easy-to-use 750ml ready-to-use spray bottle provides immediate protection, perfect for treating lily flower collections. Compatible with all spraying equipment, this effective deterrent helps maintain healthy, beautiful blooms throughout the season.

For best results, begin treatment in early spring when new shoots emerge and reapply regularly according to instructions. Protect your prized lilies and fritillaries from lily beetle damage.

Choose Grazers Lily Beetle Deterrent Spray for proven natural plant protection.

Helpful – Caring – Responsible

When Sean McMenemy started Noah’s Ark Wildlife Gardens as a landscaping business back in 1991, little did he know what a huge impact he was to make on the bird feeding and garden wildlife industries over the following decades.

Over 30-years later he still brings the same passion for garden wildlife to work every day, so it’s no wonder we’re so highly respected. Our expertise lies in providing carefully selected natural food and products that offer significant benefits to wildlife – with the type of customer service only true enthusiasm for our subject can bring.

Meeting a demand for natural, nutritious wildlife food

In those early days, Sean constantly received requests for help in making his clients’ natural gardens more wildlife friendly. Requests for bird food encouraged Sean to research bird feeding, and at that time he found problems in the market with quality and service. He knew then the only way forward was to create his own natural, nutritious range of wildlife food and present it in a way which benefited both the wildlife and the customer. Ark Wildlife was born.

The company has steadily grown since those early days, now standing as one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of bird food and garden wildlife products, despatching over 500 parcels per day across the United Kingdom.

Exceptional service, because we care more than we can put into words

No matter how large our business is now, Ark Wildlife aims to combine the convenience of an online mail order outlet with the caring, helpful touch of a specialist shop. Our people make the difference. We take great pride in the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our ever-growing workforce, still led by our inspirational driving force, Sean. If you read through some of Sean’s blog posts you will see how knowledgeable he is and how much he cares for the welfare of our wildlife.
