Barn Owls prefer cultivated areas and generally live and breed in proximity to humans. This box is ideal for integration into all kinds of buildings including barns, industrial buildings, church towers etc.

The box should not be placed completely in the open, but attached on the inside walls using screws and plugs. Site at least 6 to 8 metres above ground and keep an access hole clear through the external wall in front of the entrance to the box. There is a large flap at the rear for inspection and cleaning purposes when required.

The box is made from water-resistant, formaldehyde-free chipboard. You can further encourage birds to use the box by forming a base with tree bark and coarse wood shavings. This box may also appeal to kestrels if they are in the locality.

Siting & positioning:
The box should not be placed completely in the open but attached to the inside walls of buildings, using screws and plugs. It is important to keep an access hole through the external wall clear in front of the entrance to the box. Ideal for all kinds of buildings such as barns, industrial buildings, church towers, etc.
