Seed Mats are made from biodegradable tissue paper that has been pre-sown with seeds, so all you need to do is roll it out, cover, or pin it down and let nature do the rest. The mat will supress weeds from growing and by keeping the paper damp at all times, the seeds will germinate in no time and provide you with a riot of colour and provide bees and butterflies the nectar they need to thrive.
Our Seed Mats contain a mixture of carefully selected annual, biennial and perennial plants to provide you and your wildlife with quick colour that will return year after year.
Planting instructions
Simply roll out the mat on a weed-free spot of prepared soil and cover with about 5cm of sharp sand, topsoil, or compost. Keep well-watered until well established. The mat will help suppress weeds and encourage the seeds to grow. To get the best results the seed mats should be used in springtime.
