Our Bug & Bee Barn provides many pollinating insect species including solitary bees with a safe haven and nesting area. It is made from sustainable FSC sourced timber with a recycled, second-life plastic front panel.
As well as solitary bees, many other insects will make use of the Bee Barn`s multiple shelter locations and to maximise its use, we recommend adding organic material to the lower chamber. Good ideas include pinecones, bracken, dried hollow stems and grasses.
Best positioned in full sunshine, on a south facing wall or tree trunk, between knee and head height. Busiest during the warm summer months, it will create a point of interest throughout the year. Watch to see how many different species can be attracted, including moths, lacewings, ladybirds, bees, solitary (non-stinging) wasps, and many more.
