Guardian Bird Feeders
Often larger garden birds will scare smaller birds like robins and blue tits away from their food. Our guardian bird feeders have a wide diameter, so will offer smaller and more timid birds a safe space to feed.

How to keep big birds away from bird feeders
Guardian feeders are highly effective when it comes to keeping bigger birds out of your feeders, but there are other ways to make sure smaller birds prosper.
Lantern shaped seed feeders such as our Little Lantern or My Favourites seed feeders allow smaller birds to clutch onto the sides but don’t have enough space for larger birds to do the same. Alternatively, you could turn to bird tables for smaller birds, which are too tight for larger birds to access.
Or you could always distract larger birds with a food source dedicated to them. Larger birds prefer to feed whilst sitting down and will do so higher up. So, if you place some food on top of your garden shed, for instance, larger birds might take to eating there and leave your bird feeders alone.
How to stop jackdaws on bird feeders
Even though they’re the smallest members of the corvid family in the UK, jackdaws’ size means that they won’t be able to reach food inside one of our guardian bird feeders or lantern shaped feeders.
What is the best type of bird feeder?
There are a wide variety of bird feeders available. Providing hanging feeders is an excellent way to attract more birds into your garden, but it is also a way to attract other hungry wildlife, like squirrels. Protect feed for your birds by using innovative products like our caged bird feeders, feeder guardians and other squirrel proof feeders.
Our guardian feeders are made from heavy powder-coated steel, so are long-lasting and durable. They are simple to fill and can be hung or pole mounted using the garden pole feeding system
In addition to our range of guardian feeders we also offer a full range of squirrel baffles to stop squirrels stealing food from existing feeders.
Feed all your garden birds
Are you finding all your bird feeders are feeding the local squirrel population as well as garden birds? We encourage people to feed all the wildlife in their gardens. As well as the smaller birds in your garden, please also remember to provide food for larger birds and squirrels. Read our blog about what bird-feeders need to know.
